Ameesha Patel, 48, is an Indian actress, best known for playing Sonia Chopra in the film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000) & Sakeena “Sakku” Ali Singh, Tara Singh’s wife, in Box Office hit film of 2001, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
She will reprise her role in the upcoming movie Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, which marks the 22nd anniversary of the film Gadar.

Ameesha was born on 9 June 1975 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. Her father Amit Patel, is a Businessman, and her mother Asha Patel, is an actress. She has a younger brother, Ashmit Patel, who also appears in Bollywood films.
Ameesha attended Cathedral and John Connon High School in Bombay, then she went to Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, U.S.A for a degree in Economics.
